Ukraine's Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that Moscow is intentionally scaling up ballistic strikes to exploit recognized gaps in global defense production.

Survivors in the heavily hit Darnytskyi and Podilskyi districts recounted escaping collapsing apartments amidst fire, smoke, and subsequent explosions.
“When we were leaving the building, bodies were lying there,” said Khrystyna Piatetska, a resident of Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district.
“When we got downstairs, cars started exploding, and we came out from under the rubble straight into the fire.”
Another local resident described the rapid destruction of her home as successive blasts triggered localized flooding and fires inside the structure.
“Everything was falling down,” said Halina Ivanivna, a resident.

The Russian Defence Ministry claimed the operation successfully targeted Ukrainian weapons factories, vehicle repair plants, and energy infrastructure, while independently reporting that Russian forces intercepted 519 Ukrainian drones overnight.
