Chevrolet's special Stars & Steel Corvette, built to celebrate America's 250th anniversary, failed to meet expectations at auction.
Bidding on a 2026 Stingray Convertible with just 57 miles peaked at $89,400, far below its $103,570 sticker price.

The car, number 181 of 250, was listed on Bring a Trailer earlier this month.
Its window sticker shows a base price of $88,750 for the 3LT package, plus a $9,995 Stars & Steel package, a $1,195 performance exhaust, and a $1,095 engine appearance package.
One factor may be the arrival of the 2027 Corvette Stingray, which starts at $73,495 and features a new 6.7-liter V8.

The older model's premium seems harder to justify.
Patriotic Design, Polarizing Interior
The exterior is understated, with Arctic White paint and American-flag graphics on the hood. It rides on black 19- and 20-inch wheels with red brake calipers.
Inside, the seats are trimmed in bright Santorini Blue leather with red seat belts, a look that may divide buyers.

The blue leather also covers parts of the door panels and transmission tunnel. Notably, the car lacks the front-nose lift option, a popular feature among Corvette owners.
