Dutch contractor Mourik has acquired the former Van Hool industrial site in Koningshooikt, Flanders, from Dutch transport company G.
A. Den Otter Trucks.

The company plans to redevelop the property for regional economic use.

Den Otter Trucks had previously secured the property during a public auction with a high bid of 21.5 million euros, outbidding the Flemish government which offered 20 million euros.
Plans for the Site
Mourik operates globally in construction, industrial services, and environmental technology, employing over 2,000 people.
The family-owned business generated 781 million euros in revenue last year and is currently active in Antwerp.

The exact acquisition cost paid by Mourik for the land has not been disclosed.
The company plans to evaluate future uses for the site while consulting with local residents and government authorities.

The construction firm will ensure that the final development aligns with local and regional growth strategies.
"Hoe dat er precies uit gaat zien, wordt in de komende periode zorgvuldig onderzocht.
