Steveson, who holds a 3-0 professional record, is set to fight Elisha Ellison on the preliminary card of UFC 329 at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
Both Steveson and Hokit currently train together in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Steveson on Hokit's Potential Weight Change
Hokit recently moved from the undercard to competing at the UFC White House event, winning four quick fights to become a ranked heavyweight contender.
Despite sharing a training room, Steveson indicated he expects Hokit to change weight classes.
“We’ve been in the same room many times,” Steveson said.
“Josh is doing a fantastic job of what Josh does and good for him … No, it’s not tough for me to go against Josh Hokit.
I honestly heard that Josh Hokit was going to go down to 205 [pounds] from someone.

So if he does go down, that would be a great decision for him in the long run.”
Hokit has not publicly commented on a move to light heavyweight, having recently called out Alex Pereira for a heavyweight bout.
Steveson Praises Mentor Jon Jones
Beyond discussing Hokit, Steveson praised former two-weight champion Jon Jones, who has been mentoring him at the Jackson Wink camp.
Jones is expected to corner Steveson alongside Greg Jackson on Saturday night.
“I think he is so knowledgeable in this sport and a full-time Mixed Martial Artist,” Steveson said of Jones.
“That’s kind of what he has engraved into me.
It’s an honor to be with Jon Jones and an honor to be a part of the team that he had also.
