Lightweight fighters King Green and Terrance McKinney are set to open the main card of UFC 329 on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The matchup has been marked by rising tensions over their personal relationship.

Green, who believed they shared a friendship, expressed a sense of betrayal after McKinney accepted the contract for the high-profile event.

The bout came together shortly after the two spent time together.

Fighters Exchange Words

“Man, let's not take each other's shine,” Green recalled telling McKinney after an initial social media callout.

McKinney later said he agreed to remove the post, but the opportunity to compete on a card headlined by Conor McGregor proved too tempting.

“You want to fight Bobby Green on a Conor McGregor card?” McKinney quoted his management team's offer.

He noted that competing on such a platform fulfilled a long-standing dream for many mixed martial artists.

McKinney also addressed Green's tendency to engage in mid-fight trash talk, warning that his striking power would pose a serious threat.

“I hope he talks so he can get that jaw twisted,” McKinney said.

Green's Strategy and Career Ambitions

Green characterized McKinney as a “quick pumper” who expends all his energy early in the first round. He plans to extend the fight and test his opponent's endurance.

“He's a wild card,” Green said, noting McKinney's inconsistency.

At 39, Green is riding a three-fight winning streak and aims to prove his critics wrong. “I'm still kicking ass at 39,” he said.

Beyond the immediate bout, Green revealed his long-term goal of capturing the BMF championship, hoping to bring it back to its original lineage.

“I'm really trying to chase that BMF belt,” Green said, expressing dissatisfaction with how recent champions have handled the title.
