Senator Elizabeth Warren has demanded answers from JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon regarding the bank's interactions with convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The top Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee sent a letter to Dimon last week, citing a cache of documents released by the U.

“It is critical that Congress and the American public fully understand the extent of any interactions the bank and you had with Epstein,” Warren wrote.
The inquiry specifically questions whether Dimon sought Epstein’s advice while lobbying against a United Kingdom tax on banker bonuses.
This follows resurfaced emails involving former diplomat Peter Mandelson.
“These resurfaced emails and related reporting raise serious questions regarding the extent of the bank’s relationship with Epstein, and your knowledge of these ties,” Warren stated in her letter.

The congressional push comes after former JP Morgan executive Jes Staley alleged he communicated directly with Dimon about the bank’s ties to Epstein.
JP Morgan has denied this claim.
“No such conversation ever occurred. Further, a UK tribunal has already called Staley’s testimony evasive and unreliable,” a JP Morgan spokesperson said.
The bank maintains that Dimon never met Epstein and was not involved in managing his account decisions.
“Any association with the man was a mistake and we regret it, but we would not have continued doing business with him had we believed he was engaged in ongoing crimes.
