Ukraine, along with nine other countries including the UK, Germany, and France, announced plans on Monday to establish a joint ballistic missile defense program.
The initiative aims to bolster Europe's security in response to ongoing Russian military actions.

Coalition's Statement and Goals
The announcement came during a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the leaders of participating nations in Paris.
The coalition emphasized the need for a unified defense strategy.
"Our goal is to build a shared ballistic missile defence capability for Europe," the group stated in a joint declaration.
The coalition also includes Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Spain.
They acknowledged that ballistic missiles pose an escalating threat and are increasingly difficult to intercept compared to other aerial attacks.

UK Joins EU Support Loan for Ukraine
Separately, the UK confirmed its participation in the European Union's €90 billion support loan for Ukraine.
This funding will enable British firms to deliver additional military equipment to Ukraine, marking a significant step in post-Brexit collaboration between the UK and the EU.
Zelenskyy Pushes for Enhanced Air Defenses
Zelenskyy, who was in Paris to advocate for stronger air defenses ahead of winter, urged European leaders to adopt measures against missile threats that have severely impacted Ukraine.
"We recognise Ukraine’s unique experience, gained through its defence against the war of aggression waged by Russia," the joint statement noted.

While the specifics of the anti-ballistic program remain undefined, Zelenskyy is expected to engage with national security advisers and defense industry representatives to discuss potential collaborations.
