Princess Eléonore of Belgium will begin her higher education at Utrecht University in the Netherlands this September, the Royal Palace in Brussels announced on July 23, 2026.

The 18-year-old royal, the youngest child of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, has enrolled in a three-year Liberal Arts and Sciences bachelor's program under the university's Honours College.

The program is taught entirely in English and offers an unstandardized curriculum.

Guided by an academic advisor, students design their own coursework spanning the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, graduating with either a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science depending on their focus area.

Officials have not disclosed the specific courses Princess Eléonore will select, nor whether she plans to reside in Utrecht during her studies.

Her academic path includes primary education at Sint-Jan-Berchmanscollege in Brussels, followed by secondary schooling at Heilig Hartcollege in Tervuren starting in 2020.

She later transferred in 2023 to the International School of Brussels, where she completed her secondary education in English.
