Even before customer deliveries of the Toyota GR GT have started, two new prototypes have been spotted testing at the Nurburgring.
The twin-turbo V8-powered supercar is set to gain more exciting variants.

The standard GR GT already produces over 641 hp from its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. But these prototypes suggest Toyota is developing even more focused versions.
First Prototype: Subtle Upgrades
The first test car is heavily camouflaged but appears similar to the production model unveiled in December 2025.
However, it features aerodynamic canards on the front bumper and an exposed carbon fiber lip spoiler at the rear, replacing the body-colored unit on the standard car.
These changes indicate a slightly higher-performance spec or an optional upgrade package. Under the skin, expect revised suspension and braking components, along with software tweaks.
Second Prototype: Track-Focused Beast
The second prototype is far more extreme.

It features a front splitter, four canards, new front quarter panels with adjustable louvers, and a towering swan-neck rear wing.
The rear bumper and diffuser appear unchanged.
This variant could be Toyota's answer to the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, though perhaps not as extreme.
It may also shed some weight from the standard model's expected 3,858 lbs (1,750 kg).
Power output could edge closer to 700 hp, working alongside upgraded chassis and suspension for enhanced handling.

Toyota seems to be following a strategy similar to Mercedes-AMG's multiple GT 63 variants.
