A 35-year-old man was arrested after breaking into six homes and a high school in Winnipeg's Crescentwood neighborhood early Saturday morning, police said.
Officers responded to multiple 911 calls around 6:30 a. m.

reporting smashed windows and glass doors in the 100 block of Kingsway Avenue. The suspect was not known to any of the victims.
The damage is estimated at approximately $25,000, according to Winnipeg police.
Independent MLA Mark Wasyliw of Fort Garry was among those affected.
He woke to the sound of breaking glass and found a man with his head through a broken window demanding alcohol.
Wasyliw told Global News the man was speaking gibberish and asking for alcohol.
When Wasyliw went upstairs to call police, the suspect threw concrete through another window and fled.
Local resident Evan Moir described waking to a brick thrown through his bay window.
He saw the suspect moving through the neighborhood and attempted to confront him, but the man came at him with a bottle.

Police later arrested the suspect without incident.
Moir shared stories from neighbors, including one who said the man stole a bottle of wine, a computer, and ate a banana in the home.

Dani McKinnon said the suspect was spotted by a victim while still armed with a broken liquor bottle, which he dropped before arrest.
The man, identified as Ralph Shane Knott, faces multiple charges including seven counts of breaking and entering, assault with a weapon, threatening to cause death or bodily harm, and failure to comply with a release order.
Wasyliw expressed frustration with the government's response to the drug crisis, which he believes is contributing to such incidents.
He said the situation is a crisis that is getting much worse.
