Amanda Rivera, who lost her father Officer William Rivera in November 2004, detailed how the organization helped her family heal.

“Early in those first years following my dad’s passing, it was hard to find our way and find support for my mom and me,” Rivera said.
“We felt so alone in our grief, and thought no one knew what we were going through. Then, Answer The Call came into our lives for the better.”
Patricia Polimeni, whose detective husband Jack Polimeni died in 2020, noted that the contribution provides emotional strength to grieving families.
“I know firsthand how much the support of this organization means to families like mine,” Polimeni said.
“Your donation is so much more than a financial gift.
It provides hope, comfort and sense of community for families who are learning to navigate life after the loss of someone who dedicated their life to serving others.”
Allison Garger shared how the singer once inspired her son following the loss of her husband in 2001.
“Taylor, in the rainy concert at MetLife Stadium one year, you touched my son Michael’s hand,” Garger said.
“He has been inspired by you since then. We are forever grateful!

Valerie Perry, who lost her husband William J. Perry in 1980, expressed emotional gratitude.
“They have brought smiles because I feel like my Bill is always remembered, even after all these years,” Perry said.

The $26 million wedding donation spree also benefited Kansas City organizations including Harvester's and Children's Mercy Hospital.
