"For the city of Wichita fans, for all those Shocker fans who wanted to see this. I think it's going to be great."
Former Wichita State players highlighted that the long-awaited matchup carried significant meaning due to past scheduling difficulties between the two programs.
"We always looked forward to playing them, but we felt like they didn't want to play us," said Markis McDuffie, AfterShocks player.
"So to get a chance now in the TBT, I think that's fun."
Former Wichita State head coach Gregg Marshall previously addressed the program's perspective on scheduling discussions during his tenure.
"I wouldn't want to play us either," said Gregg Marshall, former Wichita State head coach.
The winner of the Alumni Bracket Championship will earn a spot in the winner-take-all $2 million TBT Championship game on August 2 against the winner of the Vegas Bracket.
