He reaffirmed the administration's broader strategic priorities following regional elections.
"It’s about getting a grip on the entire situation. I raised this repeatedly through the Makerfield by-election," said Burnham.
The prime minister concluded his address by summarizing public expectations and statistical migration trends.
"The public wants to see control being exerted, and while we’ve made progress, there is more to do, and I recognise that completely," said Burnham.
He highlighted recent data regarding migrant processing figures across the maritime border.
"But the trend is down, and the number of people being removed is up, so the figures are pointing in a better direction.
But there is much more to do," said Burnham.

According to Home Office figures, 13,007 migrant arrivals have been recorded this year, representing a 45 percent decrease compared to the same period last year.
