Hundreds of opposition demonstrators gathered in Caracas on July 28, 2026, to demand a clear timeline for democratic presidential elections.
The rally, organized by Vente Venezuela, coincided with the second anniversary of the disputed 2024 presidential election.

The street demonstration was the first of its kind following a massive earthquake over a month ago that left more than 5,000 people dead and over 16,000 injured across the country.
According to Venezuelan media, similar protests took place across all 335 municipalities in the nation.
Demonstrators voiced demands for wage increases for public sector workers alongside political reform.
The mobilization occurs shortly before scheduled dialogue on August 1 between the interim government led by Delcy Rodríguez and opposition representatives from the 2015 National Assembly.
Protesters expressed mixed views on the upcoming negotiations supervised by Washington following the U. S.
intervention in January that ousted former president Nicolás Maduro.
Participants emphasized the necessity of genuine political change and the release of political prisoners, which non-governmental organization Foro Penal currently estimates at 368 people.
"We chose a president and that election was taken from us," said demonstrator Gabriela Velásquez to the BBC.
Velásquez noted that decades of political history would not be undone overnight, but pointed to recent developments as a sign of progress while citizens wait to see how the situation unfolds.
"Twenty-seven years of history are not going to be undone in two days, but at least now we are seeing some movement.
