"If we want a transition, we have to go to an election," Alviárez stated.
He further clarified the timeline for political change: "When they set the election date, that is where the transition begins."
Opposition leader María Corina Machado, who remains outside Venezuela after authorities barred her return, addressed supporters through a recorded video message during the gathering.
"On July 28 we gave ourselves a mandate and we are going to fulfill it. Rise up Venezuela.
The transition is coming and it is with the people, for the people, and with our own hands," Machado said.
Machado and former candidate Edmundo González Urrutia previously issued a joint statement on July 26 clarifying that they did not participate in designing the upcoming dialogue mechanism led by Dinorah Figuera and Jorge Rodríguez, though they stated they would not block progress.
"We will evaluate it based on concrete and verifiable achievements: the recovery of democratic institutions, the release of all political prisoners, real guarantees for all actors without exclusions, a timely presidential electoral schedule, and full respect for popular sovereignty," Machado and González wrote.

The scheduled dialogue between interim authorities and former lawmakers begins August 1 to discuss a roadmap toward future elections.
