Arsenal's pursuit of Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has encountered a major obstacle following the unexpected resignation of Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, according to FourFourTwo.
German manager Matthias Jaissle is set to replace Howe, who spent five years at the helm and guided the club to a Carabao Cup victory in 2025 across 231 matches, achieving a 48.5 percent win rate.

The management upheaval, combined with recent squad losses including Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon, threatens to stall transfer negotiations conducted via intermediary Kia Joorabchian, as Newcastle seeks to prevent a further player exodus.
Addressing questions regarding player guarantees after Newcastle suffered a 4-1 preseason loss to Bristol City at Ashton Gate, Howe discussed the midfielder's dedication to the squad.

Howe further emphasized the Brazilian international's strong track record and connection with the club's fanbase during his tenure.
