He also reflected on his relationship with the franchise's fanbase, saying, "I've always felt a great sense of responsibility when it comes to the fans of Spider-Man.
They've been so kind to me over the years and I felt so lucky to have had the experience I had on the third Spider-Man movie."
To ensure the new film met expectations, he spent considerable time reviewing community feedback online before filming.
"So, for me to come back and do it again, I really wanted to make sure that what we did was exactly what the fans wanted," he said.
"I spent ages online just watching podcasts and looking at what people wanted, what they didn't like."
