The 2028 BMW M3 EV has been caught on camera undergoing testing at the Nürburgring.
The high-performance electric sedan is expected to arrive next year, closely echoing the M Concept Neue Klasse unveiled in June.

Dressed in black and white camouflage, the prototype follows the design language of the standard i3.
However, the M variant sports a unique front bumper with a pronounced air intake, complete with a triangular center support and horizontal fins.
Design and Performance Highlights
The production model may feature stacked fog lights instead of typical air curtains, as hinted by bulky cladding on the outer edges.
A ventilated hood and a double bubble roof add to its sporty appearance.
At the rear, a subtle spoiler sits on the trunk lid, accompanied by a unique bumper and a sizable diffuser with air channels and small slots.
Four square reflectors, similar to the concept, are visible on the bumper.
Inside, the cabin is expected to mirror the i3, featuring Panoramic iDrive and a 17.9-inch infotainment system.

An M steering wheel, sport seats, and special touches are likely additions.
The M3 EV will slot above the i3 50 xDrive, which produces 463 hp (345 kW / 469 PS) and 476 lb-ft (645 Nm) of torque from its dual-motor setup.
The i3's 108.7 kWh battery pack offers an EPA-estimated range of 440 miles (708 km) and supports 800-volt architecture for 400 kW DC fast charging.
BMW has confirmed the M3 EV will use a quad-motor powertrain, promising to elevate driving experience and racetrack capability.
While official figures remain undisclosed, rumors suggest output could range from 691 hp (515 kW / 700 PS) to 986 hp (735 kW / 1,000 PS).
For context, the Mercedes-AMG C-Class Electric is expected to deliver around 789 hp (588 kW / 800 PS).
BMW has also indicated the car will not be called the i3 M.
