Toyota has refreshed the GR 86 for the Japanese market, bringing all the upgrades introduced on the 2027 model in the US.

The powertrain remains unchanged, but driving dynamics have been sharpened.

Throttle response is now more linear, and the electric power steering has been tweaked for better stability during high-speed cornering and on rough surfaces.

Manual Transmission Refinement

For six-speed manual models, the chamfer between fourth and fifth gear has been widened by 0.5 mm to improve downshifting smoothness.

Inside, the RZ trim gets a cast iron black finish on several switches, and the black and red interior theme now features more red accents.

Toyota has also brought back Solid Gray, a paint color last offered on the first-generation 86 in 2017 for about six months.

The EyeSight driver-assist system now uses a triple-camera setup, including an ultra-wide-angle monocular camera, to expand the field of view.

The base RC model starts at 2,936,000 yen ($18,600), while the SZ starts at 3,195,000 yen ($20,200) with manual and 3,392,000 yen ($21,500) with auto.

The top RZ is priced from 3,518,000 yen ($22,300) with manual and 3,616,000 yen ($22,900) with auto.
