A low-mileage Ferrari 458 Speciale is set to cross the auction block at this week’s Pebble Beach auctions, with estimates reaching as high as $1.2 million.
The example, finished in Rosso Corsa, has just 2,297 miles on the odometer. Gooding Christie’s expects it to sell for between $900,000 and $1.2 million.

A Modern Ferrari Icon
The 458 Speciale is widely regarded as one of the finest Ferraris of the century.
It was one of the last models designed with Pininfarina and the final mid-engined Ferrari to feature a naturally aspirated V8.
That engine, a 4.5-liter unit, produces 597 hp at 9,000 rpm and 398 lb-ft of torque.
Ferrari achieved the power increase through a higher compression ratio, lighter pistons and crankshaft, a carbon fiber intake, and revised engine software.
The Speciale was built as a lightweight, track-focused version of the 458, following the 430 Scuderia.

Ferrari also stripped about 200 lbs from the car and modified the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Production was capped at just over 1,300 units, not including the 499 Aperta models.
This particular car was originally sold in Quebec and exported to the U. S.
in 2016.
It spent roughly 10 years in Connecticut and has been serviced and fitted with paint protection film for the auction.

Five years ago, a low-mileage 458 Speciale could be had for around $350,000. The surge in value reflects growing appreciation for this naturally aspirated V8 supercar.
