Cabin and Driving Impressions

Inside, the Envista ST features attractive contrast stitching and embroidered logos on the seats.

The dashboard wraps an 8-inch digital gauge cluster and an 11-inch infotainment screen into one large black panel.

However, touch the surfaces and the premium illusion fades.

There's plenty of inexpensive plastic and foam, and relatively little of the richer materials you'd find in a true premium vehicle.

Piano black plastic surrounds much of the center console.

Still, Buick deserves credit for keeping physical buttons and knobs for climate controls.

The infotainment system is responsive, menus are logically arranged, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included.

The seats are comfortable and supportive, and our tester's Convenience package added heating, an eight-way power driver's seat, and two-way lumbar adjustment.

At 6-foot-6, I could fit without craning my neck, though finding a seating position that kept the steering wheel clear of my legs required some compromise.

Rear passengers behind me wouldn't exactly be celebrating either, but four adults can manage shorter trips without much drama.

Cargo space is 20.7 cu-ft behind the second row and 42 cu-ft with it folded.

If you're expecting the ST badge to mean there's some hidden performance, you'll be disappointed.

The 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder produces 137 hp and 162 lb-ft, paired with a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive.

The Envista isn't fast, but it's adequate for daily driving. The ride is comfortable, and the cabin is quiet.

However, the driving experience is uninspiring, with numb steering and modest handling.

Ultimately, the 2026 Buick Envista ST is a pleasant, comfortable, and practical small crossover.

But with tough competition and a price that overlaps with more engaging rivals, it struggles to justify its place in the segment.
