Ford has revealed a broad update for the 2027 F-150, covering styling, powertrains, towing technology and trim changes.
The changes aim to keep America's favorite pickup competitive as Ford also promotes its new Fathom EV.
New 3.0 V6 and Expanded V8 Availability
The old 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 has been replaced by a 3.0-liter unit producing the same 325 hp and 400 lb-ft.
Ford says the new engine's torque peaks at 2,250 rpm instead of 3,500 rpm, delivering 10-11 percent more muscle in everyday driving.
The maximum tow rating remains 8,400 lbs, well below the 3.5 EcoBoost's 13,500 lbs.
The 400-hp 5.0 V8 is now available on King Ranch and Platinum trims for the first time since 2003.
Other engines include a 430-hp 3.5-liter PowerBoost hybrid, a 450-hp 3.5 EcoBoost in the Raptor, and a 720-hp 5.2-liter V8 in the Raptor R.
Hands-Free Towing and Carhartt Trim
Ford is expanding its BlueCruise hands-free driving assistant to towing situations.
The automaker says 75 percent of F-150 drivers tow, and BlueCruise with Towing works on 130,000 miles of routes.
Existing subscribers get the tow helper without paying more.
A new $62,660 F-150 Carhartt trim joins the lineup, following its introduction on the Super Duty.
It includes a bed protector, special 20-inch wheels, fender vents, and multiple Carhartt graphics and badges.
The XLT, Lariat and King Ranch also receive new grilles and wheels.
Ford says the regular Raptor and Tremor will become more affordable for 2027, though prices are still to be confirmed.
The entry-level Raptor loses the head-up display, fog lamps, 2kW onboard power supply, power passenger seats and steering column, and gets a sound system downgrade.
The base Tremor now starts from the STX and drops heated seats, dual-zone climate, running boards, and power rear glass.
