Godzilla fans may have been handed a new clue about where the MonsterVerse is heading next.

A fresh promotional poster for Godzilla Expo in Fukuoka has put Spacegodzilla in a prominent position, just as online speculation continues to link the cosmic kaiju to Godzilla x Kong: Supernova.

The event is scheduled to run from Thursday, June 4, to Monday, June 22, 2026, at the event space on the eighth floor of the main building of Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin Store.

Its return comes as Godzilla is entering a busy new phase on both sides of the Pacific. Legendary is still building out the MonsterVerse through films and television, while Toho is preparing Godzilla World, a separate cinematic universe centered on the King of the Monsters.

Godzilla Expo Poster Puts Spacegodzilla in the Spotlight

The newly released poster gathers several versions of Godzilla, but two silhouettes stand out: Moguera and Spacegodzilla.

That pairing has drawn attention because Spacegodzilla has recently been tied to rumors about the next Godzilla and Kong crossover. Trademark filings have also fueled talk that the extraterrestrial double could be positioned for a major return.

Godzilla x Kong: Supernova would mark the third crossover film in the Godzilla x Kong line. The project is expected to once again bring Godzilla and Kong into the same conflict, this time against a larger threat.

The latest signal came after the Writers Guild of America last year listed Toho as the owner of Space Godzilla in connection with Godzilla x Kong: Supernova.

That listing did not amount to a public plot confirmation, but it gave fans more reason to watch Spacegodzilla closely as the next MonsterVerse chapter moves forward.

Spacegodzilla Has Ties to Moguera

Spacegodzilla first appeared in the 1994 film Godzilla Vs. Spacegodzilla, released in Japan.

In that story, the creature is born after Godzilla’s cells are exposed to radiation from a black hole. The result is a hostile alien version of Godzilla that later heads toward Earth.

Moguera, formally known as Mobile Operation Godzilla Universal Expert Robot Aero-Type, also appears in that film.

The machine was introduced as a government-built successor to Mechagodzilla, giving the 1994 movie a direct link between Spacegodzilla and the robotic kaiju now appearing beside it in the new Expo artwork.

Moguera has not been confirmed for the upcoming Legendary film. Still, its presence on the Godzilla Expo poster has made the timing harder for fans to ignore.

Godzilla Expo Returns to Fukuoka in June

The organizer described the event as a comeback driven by strong audience interest.

“Due to overwhelming demand, the Godzilla Expo will be held again as Godzilla Expo in Fukuoka from Thursday, June 4th to Monday, June 22nd, 2026 at the event space on the 8th floor of the main building of Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin Store. Information will be updated regularly! Please look forward to further updates.”

No similar North American stop has been announced at this stage.

Even so, Godzilla’s global presence has become more visible in recent years, and the franchise is no longer moving through just one lane. The MonsterVerse, Godzilla World, and live fan events are now unfolding at nearly the same time.

For now, Spacegodzilla remains unconfirmed as the next MonsterVerse villain. The Expo poster, the WGA listing, and the recent trademark chatter have only made the rumor louder.
