Former four-division world champion Adrien Broner has announced his return to boxing, declaring his intention to capture one final world title before retiring.

The 36-year-old made the announcement during a livestream from Miami on May 20, 2026.

Broner's last fight was in June 2024, when he suffered a knockout loss to Blair Cobbs. The bout marked the beginning of a 22-month ring hiatus.

"I'm gonna give y'all another run. I'll be back and ready.

I want one more world title before I retire—I still got what it takes," Broner said during the broadcast.

Analysts Question Timeline and Recent Performance

Broner plans to dedicate three to five years to his comeback campaign.

However, sports analysts have expressed skepticism, noting that he will turn 37 in July and has won only two of his last eight fights over the past eight years.

According to BoxRec, Broner holds a perfect 27-0 record at or below 135 pounds but has struggled at heavier weights, posting an 8-5-1 record above that threshold.

Experts say he must drop below 140 pounds and win three to four tune-up fights against moderate opposition to secure sanctioning body approval.

Veteran analyst and former champion Andre Berto publicly cautioned Broner about his lifestyle choices.

Berto stated that Broner's focus on streaming, late-night collaborations, and partying could compromise the conditioning required for an elite training camp.
