New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. broke out of his offensive slump by borrowing and wearing the oversized game pants of injured teammate Giancarlo Stanton.
The switch began on May 15, 2026.

Before changing his pants, Chisholm had a . 203 batting average.
After the adjustment, he went 3-for-4 against the New York Mets in a 5-2 victory and recorded nine hits in 16 at-bats over four games.
His surge included three doubles and a go-ahead, two-run home run in the seventh inning against the Toronto Blue Jays on May 18.
That was his first homer since May 5.
The uniform change drew attention due to the size difference between the two players.
Stanton stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 240 pounds, while Chisholm is 5-foot-11 and 184 pounds.
Teammates React to Unusual Strategy
Outfielder Trent Grisham had previously lent Chisholm his pants for Jackie Robinson Day, which started the experimental fashion trend.
Stanton, sidelined since April 25 with a right calf strain, approved of the wardrobe usage.

"I think it's great," Stanton said. "It's definitely cool, especially since he's been raking in them, so I think it's gonna stay."
Stanton joked about the power in his uniform pieces. "They've got homers in them," he said.
He also left open the possibility of wearing Chisholm's smaller pants when he returns.
Chisholm explained his focus on visual presentation. "I found Big G's pants in the back," he said.
"They're a little bit bigger, but it doesn't matter the size. It's more of the look for me."
He added, "I like the pants that give me hits. I'm not that superstitious, but I'm a little stitious."
Grisham noted that such psychological adjustments are common in a long season. "You play this game long enough, you start thinking funny," he said.
