Thomas Tuchel has finalized a 26-man England World Cup squad that features several high-profile omissions, including Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, and Harry Maguire.

The announcement, set for Friday morning at Wembley, reflects the German manager's tactical overhaul.

Foden and Palmer have struggled for form at Manchester City and Chelsea respectively, leading to their exclusion.

In midfield, Manchester United's Kobbie Mainoo makes the cut, while Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton misses out.

Tuchel is also considering recalling Ivan Toney to support captain Harry Kane, with Ollie Watkins as the primary backup.

Maguire's Shock Omission

Harry Maguire, 33, has been left out despite a strong resurgence at Manchester United under Michael Carrick.

He started against Uruguay and featured against Japan in March, but Tuchel has opted for Ezri Konsa, Marc Guéhi, and John Stones—the latter having only four club appearances since December.

Trevoh Chalobah, Jarell Quansah, and Dan Burn are also in contention, while Levi Colwill and Fikayo Tomori are absent.

Maguire expressed his disappointment on social media, saying he was "shocked and gutted" by the decision.

Tuchel had previously praised Maguire's aerial ability and composure after the Uruguay friendly, but noted that other players with different profiles were ahead of him.

Luke Shaw, despite an injury-free campaign, is also expected to be omitted as Tuchel builds a squad on his own terms.
