Around 15,000 cyclists took part in the 235-kilometer Fietselfstedentocht across Fryslân on Whit Monday, May 25, 2026.
The first groups arrived early at the Dokkum stamping post.

The major regional event started from Bolsward as early as 4:30 AM, according to reports from regional broadcasters Omrop Fryslân and RTV NOF.
Dokkum welcomed cyclists and motorcyclists at De Markt for stamping, live music, and refreshments.
To ensure public safety, local authorities closed the city center to motorized traffic for the entire day.
Visitors were directed to dedicated parking lots at P-West, P-Noord, and P-Oost.

Media Coverage and Special Participants
Multiple regional broadcasters, including Omrop Fryslân, RTV NOF, Omroep Zilt, and RTV Spannenburg, collaborated to provide live television, radio, and digital coverage of the tour.
Reporters deployed along the route documented participant experiences, including cyclists using rest stops in Holwert and navigating through Harlingen and Franeker.
Paralympic swimmer Liesette Bruinsma joined the tour as a personal challenge to support the Foppe Fonds charity.
