Sophie, a devoted fan of the show, portrayed herself in her real-life capacity as honorary president of Linking Environment and Farming (Leaf) during the fictional Borchester Show.

The segment was secretly recorded in May at the BBC Mailbox studio in Birmingham and aired at 7 p.
m. as part of the program's 75th anniversary celebrations.
Before the broadcast, the show's website teased the appearance, stating: "Nerves are frayed on the day of the Borchester Show, and a surprise guest makes their mark."

The Duchess met with cast members including Charles Collingwood, Tim Bentinck, David Troughton, and Susie Riddell before recording her lines under studio lights.
