Ruddy joined the Magpies on a free transfer from Birmingham City two years ago.
Although he never made a competitive first-team appearance, he played an important role in training camps, supported senior goalkeepers, and attended academy and under-21s matches.
The player expressed his gratitude to fans and staff through an emotional farewell message on Instagram.
He shared his appreciation alongside a picture of the late manager Sir Bobby Robson.
"Geordies… Thank you for welcoming me and my family to your club. The last photo says it perfectly.
So fortunate to meet and work alongside amazing people.
Big shout out to the GK union, led by @barts2729 & @jalal14gk for making every day enjoyable and stimulating," Ruddy wrote.

The post drew responses from several former teammates, including captain Bruno Guimaraes who replied with two love hearts.
The departure concludes a two-year stint where Ruddy earned a contract extension for his professional contributions behind the scenes.
Howe Praises Ruddy's Influence
Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe previously highlighted the goalkeeper's extensive involvement across all levels of the club during the past season.
"John has been brilliant behind the scenes, I have to say. I can't praise people like John enough.
John has come into the football club and he has fully embraced everything we do. He is here for youth games and reserve games.
He has really invested in trying to help people. Every player, I am sure, has touched in some way.
John has been a vital part of what we have done this year," Howe said.
