Salford City finished fourth last season and have spent seven consecutive campaigns in League Two. The club has employed five different managers during that period.
Reunion with Former Teammates
A move to Salford would reunite Ferguson with Manchester United legends Sir David Beckham and Gary Neville, who co-own the club alongside Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, and Paul Scholes.
Ferguson played for Manchester United from 1990 to 1994, overlapping with Beckham and Neville before moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The appointment would mark the fourth club of Ferguson's managerial career. He previously managed Peterborough United, Preston North End, and Doncaster Rovers.
