New York Giants edge rusher Abdul Carter left the opening day of mandatory minicamp practice early on Monday after twisting his ankle.
The second-year defender was seen walking away from the outdoor session after being evaluated by medical personnel.

Beat reporter Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News first reported the incident, noting that Carter had his left shoe and sock removed while trainers examined him.
Carter subsequently limped into the Giants' indoor facility while the rest of the team continued practicing outside.
Coach Provides Update
Giants head coach John Harbaugh addressed the media after practice, stating the injury "doesn't look serious."
ESPN's Jordan Raanan also reported that Carter is "okay" following initial medical evaluation.
The scare comes at a critical time for New York, as the defense has already lost three players to Achilles tears earlier this spring.
Carter is expected to be a vital component of the Giants' defensive front for the 2026 season under Harbaugh.

The team selected him out of Penn State with the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
During his rookie campaign, Carter did not miss a single game and finished fifth in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting.
He recorded 43 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
The edge rusher experienced a slow start, securing just 0.5 sacks through his first 12 appearances, but finished strongly with 3.5 sacks over his final five games.
