The Tigers chased Yankees starter Gerrit Cole from the game in the fifth inning, tagging him for five runs on nine hits.
Cole entered the matchup with a dominant career 1.84 ERA in 14 starts against Detroit.

Shea Langeliers of the Oakland Athletics leads American League catchers with over 1.4 million votes, followed by Alejandro Kirk of the Toronto Blue Jays with more than 830,000 votes.

The first phase of fan voting concludes on Thursday.
The top two vote-getters at each position advance to the final stage to determine the starters for the Midsummer Classic in Philadelphia on July 14.
