Candace Parker acknowledged that physicality has always been part of the game but noted that increased visibility has brought new opinions and debates.

Elena Delle Donne expressed a preference for a less physical style, saying, "We want to see them do what they can do.

We don't want to just see them get beat up." She added that the league is in a learning period as it adjusts officiating standards.

Former player Ty Young defended Thomas, arguing the contact was not intentional. "She wasn't looking, she's trying to get up.

But when you freeze something ... it looks worse than what it actually is," Young said.

Hall of Famer Swin Cash noted that superstars like A'ja Wilson and Napheesa Collier have faced similar physical challenges and still elevated their performance.
