The Calgary Flames have added a promising center to their prospect pipeline.
The franchise selected Egor Barabanov with the 100th overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft on June 27.

Barabanov, 20, is a left-shot center who played this past season for the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League.
He recorded 28 goals and 91 points across 68 games.
Breakout Season in the OHL
The selection follows a breakout performance for Barabanov.
He previously spent two underwhelming seasons in the United States Hockey League before his offensive production surged in the OHL.

His development leap made him an attractive option for Calgary in the fourth round. The Flames have emphasized adding players with significant physical size during the 2026 draft.
Barabanov stands 6-foot-0 and weighs 180 pounds. He fills a primary positional need for organizational depth at center.
Growing Center Pipeline
With the selection, Calgary has now chosen seven players overall in the 2026 draft.
Barabanov joins a group of young centers in the pipeline that includes prospects Reschny, Potter, Hextall, and Castagna.
