Leeds United have verbally agreed to sell defender Pascal Struijk to Brighton & Hove Albion for £20 million ($26.4 million), according to multiple reports.
The deal prevents the West Yorkshire club from losing the 26-year-old for free next summer when his contract was set to expire.

Brighton are expected to formally submit the offer following the weekend agreement, as reported by The New York Times.
Struijk had only 12 months remaining on his contract at Elland Road, which runs until June 2027.
Contract extension negotiations recently stalled, as reported by Football Insider via GiveMeSport.
Although Leeds previously valued the player at £40 million, his desire for a fresh challenge prompted the sale.
Struijk leaves Leeds after an eight-and-a-half-year stint, making over 190 appearances.

Brighton pursued the left-footed center-back to fill a defensive vacancy created by Jan Paul van Hecke, who joined Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month for £52 million.
As reported by Sports Mole, Tottenham had initially tracked Struijk but shifted focus to other defensive signings.
Meanwhile, Brighton has also launched multiple bids for Tottenham center-back Luka Vuskovic.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke must now seek a left-footed replacement to reinforce his defensive unit.
