This new trend of early-career tight end usage suggests Sadiq has a shot at a strong rookie campaign," noted ESPN in its recent statistical analysis.

The projection highlights the rarity of rookie tight ends reaching such figures.

Only 12 players at the position in NFL history have exceeded 700 receiving yards during their debut seasons.

Sadiq will compete for targets in a crowded Jets offense that includes veteran quarterback Geno Smith, running back Breece Hall, tight end Mason Taylor, and wide receivers Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell, and Omar Cooper Jr.

"Sadiq missed OTAs and minicamp after hernia surgery, stemming from a college injury," wrote Rich Cimini, reporter for ESPN.

"... He's expected to be ready for training camp, but will be behind.

OC Frank Reich has a plan for Sadiq, whom he envisions as a mismatch because of his speed and explosiveness."

Fantasy football analysts from FantasyPros and Yahoo currently list Sadiq as the 20th tight end off the board in early Average Draft Position (ADP) rankings.
