New York Jets rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq is expected to return from a minor hernia surgery in time for the team's upcoming training camp, according to ESPN reports on June 29, 2026.
The first-round draft pick missed organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp while recovering from the procedure, which stemmed from a college injury sustained during his time at Oregon.

Jets offensive coordinator Frank Reich acknowledged that Sadiq will enter training camp behind the rest of the offense due to his missed practice time.
Reich noted that the coaching staff has a specific plan to integrate him.
The franchise selected Sadiq with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to boost an offense that finished 29th in scoring last season.
The team relies on his elite athleticism and 4.39-second speed.
Sadiq posted 51 receptions for 560 yards and eight touchdowns for Oregon in 2025.
Statistical projections from ESPN analyst Mike Clay predict he will secure 691 receiving yards and four touchdowns during his debut professional campaign.
The projected production would place Sadiq fifth among all first-year players, aligning with recent historical trends where rookie tight ends have found rapid success in the league.
"Half of (those tight ends to exceed 700 yards receiving) have come since 2021, including three last season (Tyler Warren, Harold Fannin Jr. and Colston Loveland).
