"I’m delighted to be sorted before pre-season starts," said Thomson, noting that concluding negotiations early allowed him to focus entirely on his physical preparation.
"It’s nice to get it sorted. It’s always nice when it’s all done and you don’t have to think about it," he added.
Thomson acknowledged that his long tenure has created a deep emotional connection with the club and its recent competitive journey.
"Obviously the club means a great deal to me.
You don’t spend this long somewhere and don’t care about it," he said, reflecting on the highs and lows.
After returning from an 18-month injury lay-off on New Year's Day, Thomson is focused on achieving peak fitness ahead of the new campaign.
"Now I feel ready to go and hopefully I can get a full preseason under my belt and be in good shape going into the season," he said.
Harrogate Town Head of Recruitment Lloyd Kerry commended Thomson's loyalty, professionalism, and leadership qualities within the squad.
