“I just hope that I can bring my experience and my calmness to the team and I just want to be able to be a part of it and achieve something great together,” Famewo said.
Famewo made 15 Championship appearances last season before sustaining injuries. He now joins a Bolton side that earned promotion back to the second tier.
“Everyone knows Bolton is a massive club,” Famewo told Wanderers TV. He emphasized that the passionate atmosphere surrounding the region acts as a major incentive for arriving players.
“It's somewhere you want to be as a player, somewhere where it means a lot to the fans and everyone around the area as well,” he said.
The defender concluded that the crowd's energy remains a vital component of the matchday experience.
“You know they drive the success, so, as a player, there's not really much more you can ask for,” Famewo said.
He noted that hearing about the support from afar cannot compare to taking the pitch in front of the local crowd.
“I'm definitely looking forward to meeting all the fans and seeing everything they bring,” he added.
The transfer marks another step in Bolton's squad rebuilding process as the club prepares for its opening fixtures in the Championship.
