US President Donald Trump earned around $1.2 billion from his family's cryptocurrency operations during his second term, according to government financial disclosure documents released Tuesday.

The 927-page filing from the US Office of Government Ethics revealed that Trump's personal wealth surged from $2.3 billion to $6.5 billion between 2024 and 2026, largely due to digital asset revenue.

Trump acquired nearly $550 million through his ties to World Liberty Financial, a startup co-founded in September 2024 by his sons and the son of Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff.

He also secured $635 million in royalties from a licensing agreement tied to the $TRUMP cryptocurrency, which launched hours before his presidential inauguration in January 2025.

White House Defends Financial Activities

The White House dismissed ethical concerns, asserting that the investments do not conflict with public duties.

“Neither the president nor his family has ever engaged – or will ever engage – in conflicts of interest,” said Anna Kelly, principal deputy press secretary.

Kelly defended the administration's stance on digital assets, highlighting the shift toward digital currencies under Trump's leadership.

She added that the US has been made “the crypto capital of the world.”

The press secretary also criticized media coverage of Trump's business earnings, questioning the motivations of critics.

“All actions by president Trump and his administration are taken in the best interest of the American people – and any so-called reporters pushing otherwise are recycling the same, tired, false narrative,” Kelly said.
