Veteran producer Henry Schuster announced his departure from CBS News' flagship program "60 Minutes" on Monday, June 29, 2026.

He is the latest staffer to leave amid a restructuring under new editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.

Schuster, who joined the Emmy-winning news program full-time in 2007 after 25 years at CNN, accepted a corporate buyout offer in February.

He formalized his exit this week.

"After almost two decades, it was time for a change," Schuster wrote on LinkedIn.

"It has been a great run at '60 Minutes,' and what I got to do there was extraordinary.

But I have been thinking about leaving for a while now, and when the opportunity presented itself in February, I took it."

Schuster said his departure was "overshadowed by the forced departures of so many colleagues and friends at the broadcast."

He noted the broader organizational transition reshaping the production teams.

The staff departures follow the acquisition of CBS parent company Paramount Global by David Ellison's Skydance Media.

The new owners installed Weiss and executive producer Nick Bilton to lead editorial operations.

In June, veteran correspondent Scott Pelley was abruptly terminated after an internal dispute over editorial direction.

Pelley described the experience in an interview on The New York Times' "The Interview" podcast.

"The best thing that I can imagine in terms of describing it is that it's like your spouse was murdered," Pelley said.
