Donald Trump shared an artificial intelligence-generated video on Thursday that targeted prominent Hollywood critics by portraying himself as a doctor treating a fictional condition called 'Trump derangement syndrome.'
The manipulated video used hyper-realistic, fabricated footage to show several high-profile entertainment figures expressing regret over their political opposition to his administration.

'I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep, constantly angry,' said a deepfake version of Robert De Niro in the video.
The AI-generated clip also included fabricated likenesses of Whoopi Goldberg, Edward Norton, and Julia Roberts to illustrate their alleged recovery from the political affliction.
'They were so far gone, I wasn't really sure,' the fake Trump said in the video.
The video continued with the AI persona offering advice on how patients could resolve their anxiety through lifestyle adjustments.
'Turn off fake news, say your prayers, and if you ever feel anxious, just have a Diet Coke like me, and you're going to see a remarkable difference in your life,' the AI-generated Trump said.

The publication of the video prompted an immediate response from actress Rosie O'Donnell, who was among the primary targets of the digital parody.
'He's quite ill-and getting worse daily. The 25th amendment exists for exactly this reason.
Remove. Impeach.
Convict,' O'Donnell said.
White House officials treated the social media post as a standard element of political communication and did not confirm if they contacted the affected actors.
