Overnight rainfall totals reached up to 3 inches in some areas, according to weather reports.
The downpours led to flooded streets and intersections, particularly in Fond du Lac and Green Lake counties, which were placed under a severe thunderstorm watch.
The FOX 11 Storm Chaser monitored conditions along Interstate 41 after reports of localized flooding emerged from the Appleton and Kaukauna areas.
Although the storm-tracking vehicle did not encounter active flooding upon arrival, local authorities continued to monitor vulnerable infrastructure.
Heat and Storm Threat Continue
Friday is expected to remain warm and humid with a high near 88 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat index values could approach the upper 90s, according to meteorologists.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire region under a level 1 and 2 out of 5 threat index for Friday.
The next round of precipitation is likely to develop near the state line by late Friday morning and early afternoon.
While the primary threat of severe weather shifts south and west, any localized storms that develop could still produce small hail and gusty winds.
Unsettled conditions are projected to linger into the holiday weekend.
