Birmingham City has completed the signing of former Middlesbrough captain Dael Fry on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old center-back joined after his contract with Middlesbrough expired on June 30.

Fry failed to agree on new terms with the Championship rivals, leading to his departure.
Middlesbrough had hoped to retain the defender, who captained the team last season under Kim Hellberg.
However, contract negotiations stalled because the club was reluctant to meet Fry's wage demands due to his recent injury history.
Fry had hoped to remain with his boyhood club after staying injury-free since November and playing nearly every game in the second half of the season.
He leaves Middlesbrough just four appearances short of reaching his 300th milestone.

Prior to the Championship play-offs, Fry spoke about his deep connection to his former club.
"This club is absolutely everything to me. Middlesbrough’s all I’ve known my whole career.
I’ve played a lot of games here," said Fry.
He also expressed his long-held ambitions for the team during their promotion push.
"Winning promotion would mean absolutely everything to me.

Honestly, it’d be the pinnacle of my career, and something that I’d be very proud of going into later stages of my career, definitely," said Fry.
