"The concern, for us, is that at some point we are going to get a call saying Craig or Mum has been hospitalised," Bennett said.

He acknowledged the human body's resilience but stressed the duration of their fast is reaching an absolute limit.

"As the days go on, family and friends grow more and more concerned that one day the body will say it can’t go on," he added.

The family hopes the coordinated plea will convince the couple to suspend the fast.

"Essentially, we want to make sure that they do come home and the worst doesn't happen," Bennett said.

Family Criticizes UK Government Response

Bennett expressed frustration with the British Foreign Office, demanding a more proactive stance to secure their release.

"They haven’t had the backbone to call it arbitrary detention. We have a UN special rapporteur calling it hostage-taking," he said.

The family highlighted a potential prisoner swap involving Richard Jan, an Iranian national held in a UK prison for 23 years, whom Iranian jailers allegedly mentioned as the "only avenue" for a deal.

A UK government spokesperson rejected any possibility of negotiation, stating there was "no truth whatsoever to the claims of a potential exchange arrangement."

However, Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy said "arrangements can be made" when questioned publicly.

An online petition demanding direct British government intervention has gathered nearly 90,000 signatures as the family continues raising funds for their campaign.
