Mercedes driver and championship leader Kimi Antonelli secured pole position for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Saturday.
The 19-year-old Italian clocked the fastest time of 1:28.111, outpacing Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, who finished second and third respectively.

Earlier in the day, Antonelli had also won the sprint race, continuing his strong form.
Verstappen's Difficult Session
Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen faced immediate technical difficulties with his RB22 from the start of qualifying, ultimately finishing seventh.
The four-time world champion struggled through all three qualifying stages, consistently trailing his teammate Isack Hadjar, who secured fifth on the starting grid.

Verstappen expressed his frustration over team radio, describing the handling issues as "een ramp."
In addition to handling problems, the Dutch driver felt something was mechanically wrong with his engine, preventing Red Bull from fighting for the front row.

While Mercedes celebrated Antonelli's performance, his teammate George Russell narrowly avoided an early exit in Q1 after sliding into the gravel trap but managed to keep his car out of the wall.
