“She notices everything here. She knows who is who and runs the whole neighborhood.
If little boys are out on the street late, she tells them to go home. Then they really listen,” Richard said.
One Warning, Then Police
To manage the frequent challenges of a 24-hour operating license, Nejla uses verbal communication as her primary de-escalation tool.
“In the first instance, talking is the solution,” she said. “I give one warning, then I call the police.”
Her 26-year-old daughter, Neshlihan, who works as an assistant accountant during the week, helps behind the scenes with administrative duties.
“Now I help behind the scenes with papers, and of course I can still be found there regularly,” Neshlihan said.
She expressed deep gratitude for her mother’s sacrifices.
“Because of this place, my mother was able to build a future for me and my sister.
I was and still am very grateful that she worked so hard for us,” Neshlihan said.
When asked why she continues working hard despite her children being adults, Nejla reiterated her devotion to family.
“My biggest motivation is taking care of my family.

As long as you are my daughter and live under my roof, I do not want you to be without my support,” Neshlihan recalled her mother saying.
