"If you don't kiss the asses of the people that go to work every day, and are just trying to pay their bills, you will fall far, far short of the capacity you need to make your business work," wrote Cuban.

Historical Airline Perk
Separate historical records published by thetravel. com on July 5, 2026, revealed that Cuban previously maximized corporate financial programs.
He purchased an unlimited lifetime AAirpass from American Airlines at age 29 after a night of drinking.
"My first company I sold for $6 million. It was called MicroSolutions.
I just sold that company, I was 29. My buddies were like, 'We need to buy a car or a house.'
I'm like, nah. We're doing shots, and I'm like, 'Do you do lifetime passes?'
The next day, hangover and all, I bought one," said Cuban.
American Airlines initially launched the unique promotional service in 1981 to attract corporate business accounts. Aggressive utilization by passholders caused severe financial deficits.
The commercial carrier officially terminated new memberships for the unlimited lifetime program in 2004. It continues to honor the remaining 66 active accounts.
Pricing for the passes escalated over time: $250,000 in the 1980s, $600,000 in 1990, $1 million in 1993/1994, and $3 million in 2004.

A subsequent prepaid system introduced by the airline for corporate travelers concluded on November 30, 2022. All remaining valid passes under that program fully expired in 2024.
