Paul McCartney performed two classic Beatles songs live for the first time in 60 years at the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

The event took place on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The 84-year-old musician played the 1963 number-one single "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and the 1964 hit "I Saw Her Standing There" during the star-studded reception.

According to reports from People magazine and setlist.

fm, it marked his first public performance of these tracks since September 1964 at the Paramount Theatre in New York.

An unnamed source told People that after the ceremony, Swift's mother, Andrea, invited guests into the reception room where the stage was set up.

The same insider noted that former Fleetwood Mac vocalist Stevie Nicks also performed during the event.

Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts confirmed Nicks' performance on a Saturday broadcast.

Long-Standing Mutual Admiration

McCartney and Swift have shared a long-standing mutual admiration.

They previously interviewed each other for Rolling Stone magazine in 2020 and performed together at the Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary afterparty in 2015.

Swift recently praised McCartney's new solo album, "The Boys of Dungeon Lane," on her Instagram Stories.

She described him as an "eternally exceptional artist" by whom she was "never not inspired."

Before the wedding, McCartney discussed his relationship with younger pop icons during an interview with BBC Sounds.

"You so see the parallel, you know the fame and the amount of fame," he said.

"The worldwide fame that Taylor Swift has and that we had, but I don't think she needs any advice, to tell you the truth."

McCartney expressed his willingness to guide younger musicians if they request his assistance.

"I'm like the older brother to that generation, or more like the grandad, actually," he said.

He noted that he regularly interacts with prominent young vocalists through social gatherings organized by his family.
