Pizza Express conducted an internal investigation into the former Duke of York's alleged visit to its Woking branch, as reported by the BBC.

Senior executives initiated the probe due to public interest concerns surrounding the alibi provided by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The internal review yielded no definitive evidence confirming or disproving his presence at the Surrey location.

Further investigation by BBC Newsnight revealed no witnesses who could place Mountbatten-Windsor at the restaurant on that specific date in 2001.

The allegations stem from Virginia Giuffre, an Epstein victim, who stated she socialized with Mountbatten-Windsor at a London nightclub on March 10, 2001, before returning to a house in Belgravia where the alleged assault occurred.

Mountbatten-Windsor has firmly denied any wrongdoing throughout the controversy.

During a 2019 interview with Newsnight, he sought to counter the claims by stating he took his daughter to a birthday party at the Woking Pizza Express branch during the afternoon before returning home.

“On that particular day that we now understand is the date which is the 10th of March, I was at home, I was with the children and I’d taken Beatrice to a Pizza Express in Woking for a party at I suppose sort of four or five in the afternoon.”

“And then because the duchess was away, we have a simple rule in the family that when one is away the other one is there.
